The position monitoring feature in Center AI allows you to track how high your business listings rank for selected keywords on Google Maps. This provides complete control over the effectiveness of your SEO efforts and enables a quick response to improve your business's visibility in search results.
To add keywords for monitoring, click the “Edit” button or go to Settings → Monitored Keywords.
1. How Does Position Monitoring on Google Maps Work?
To begin monitoring, you must first add the keywords you want to track. Once added, Center AI automatically analyzes your listings' rankings for each keyword. The data is updated every four days, and you can view the results in tables or charts, making it easy to track trends over time.
The table provides information on the average position of your listings for individual keywords across all locations and for specific listings. For example, if a listing has an average position of "8" for a keyword, it is most frequently ranked in 8th place during the selected search period.
2. Top Positions and Results Analysis
You can adjust the table view to see how often your listings appear in the top positions. The “Top Positions” metric shows how often a listing ranked in positions 1-3, 4-10, and 11-20. This data helps you closely monitor the effectiveness of your optimization and positioning efforts.
Additionally, you can visualize the data in a chart that displays position changes over time. This allows you to analyze visibility trends in your listings, helping you refine your SEO strategy.
3. Monitored Area
The monitored area depends on the specific keyword. Google expands the area from which Center AI collects average position data for less popular terms, so the total monitored area may vary. However, detailed results displayed on the heatmap for a single listing cover an area of approximately 5 square kilometers.
