The User Actions module in Center AI provides detailed insights into how often and in what ways customers interact with your business listings. The data includes the number of listing views and actions taken by potential customers, such as website visits, requests for directions, and phone calls.
1. Listing Views
Multiple views by the same user within one day are counted as a single view. Listing views on Google Maps are categorized into four main sources:
Google Maps Views – Mobile: The number of views through the Google Maps app on mobile devices.
Google Search Views – Mobile: The number of views in the classic Google Search performed on mobile devices.
Google Maps Views – Desktop: The number of views through Google Maps on desktops or laptops.
Google Search Views – Desktop: The number of views in the classic Google Search on desktops or laptops.
2. User Actions on Listings
The data also tracks actions taken by customers on your listings, such as website visits, requests for directions, and phone calls. These insights show how users respond after viewing your listing on Google Maps.
It’s worth noting that visiting the website is not typically the primary action for users searching for products or stores on Google Maps. Such customers are often more intent on visiting a physical location.
3. How to Analyze and Use the Data
In Center AI, data can be viewed for a single listing, a group of listings, a city, or over a selected time period—up to 18 months back from the day the listing was imported into Center AI. After exporting the data, results are available as charts or tables, making it easy to compare them with other sources, such as advertising campaign results.
With these insights, you can better understand which listings and regions are delivering the best results and how seasonality, campaigns, and other factors influence traffic to your locations. By analyzing the number of views and actions taken by customers, you can plan an effective marketing strategy and optimize your listings' visibility on Google Maps.
Understanding user behavior on Google Maps is crucial for businesses looking to meet customer needs and increase foot traffic to their locations.
